Description

Maggiali was an active maker, he received making advice from the Sderci family. He made predominantly Stradivari and Guarderi models with Golden-red varnish. He was awarded a Gold medal at the Rome Violin making competition of 1954.The evenly-grained spruce used for the top and the sycamore maple with deep flames used for the one-piece back are exceptionally lovely tone woods; they are further enhanced by a wonderfully delicate oil varnish in a luminous bright golden brownish-orange.This violin sings with a bright, warm and radiant sound full of beautiful resonance and a mature character.
