Description
Son of violin maker Roger Millant, Jean-Jacques was one of the finest and most influential 20th century French bow makers. Born in Paris in 1928, he was sent to Mirecourt for two years from 1946 to train with Morizot Freres. After returning to his father’s shop in Paris, he established his own business at 3 rue de Constantinople in 1951. He subsequently moved to rue du Mont-Dore, and then to 19 rue de Bucarest before his death in 1998. This wonderful round stick influenced by Peccatte and branded J-Jacques Millant and has a length of 72.8 cm. The frog is ebony with silver mountings and inlaid parisian eyes. The button is ebony with a full silver cap.
