Our Workshop

At the core of TMX is our fully equipped in-house workshop, where experienced luthiers specialise in the repair, restoration, and long-term care of fine string instruments. Our work supports instruments across different stages of their musical lives, from active performance use to long-term preservation.

Our workshop is entrusted with the ongoing care and maintenance of selected institutional instrument collections used by students at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, NUS, reflecting the level of confidence placed in our technical standards, consistency, and discretion.

Sound Optimisation

As part of our 10-Year Warranty, regular maintenance allows your instrument to receive ongoing tonal care and refinement over time. Each visit gives our specialists the opportunity to assess, adjust, and fine-tune the instrument as it matures and responds to the player.

Through precise tonal adjustment and careful calibration of key components, we ensure the instrument maintains clarity, balance, and responsiveness throughout its lifespan. This continuous care protects not only the sound you enjoy today, but also preserves the instrument’s structural condition and long-term value for years to come.

It is a long-term care program that supports your instrument through professional maintenance, workshop support, and sound care for up to 10 years.

It protects your instrument’s condition, sound quality, and future value over time.

To remain eligible, the instrument must be brought in for professional maintenance at least once a year.

We will send reminders to support you. However, if maintenance is not completed within 12 months + 1-month grace period, the 10-Year Warranty will no longer be valid.

The 10-Year Warranty includes a complimentary annual professional inspection as part of our long-term care commitment.
This inspection covers restringing, bridge alignment and straightness, soundpost and fingerboard checks, peg lubrication and inspection for open seams or cracks.

The annual inspection itself is provided as part of our care program. If maintenance or repair work is needed, we will first provide a clear estimate. Service fees typically range from $50 to $200, depending on the instrument’s condition and the scope of work. All recommendations will be explained in advance, and no work will be done without your approval.

If no work is required after inspection, no maintenance fee will be charged. The visit will still count as your annual maintenance for warranty eligibility.

You must bring your instrument in once a year to remain entitled to the 10-Year Warranty.

All work is done by our in-house workshop and experienced luthiers.

It ensures consistent standards, proper records, and long-term responsibility for your instrument.
